How fuel prices are set
The government adjusts fuel prices on the first Wednesday of each month. The change reflects international oil prices and the rand/dollar exchange rate over the previous month, plus taxes and levies such as the General Fuel Levy and the Road Accident Fund levy, and transport costs to inland areas.
